What it is
What is a susu?
Also known as: susu collector, box hand, partner
Susu is a savings tradition from Ghana that travelled with the diaspora to the Caribbean and North America, where it is also called box hand or partner. Members contribute a fixed amount daily, weekly, or monthly; the pot is paid out in turn, or a susu collector holds savings and returns them at the end of a cycle.
Susu runs on trust and a card marked at each payment. When the card is lost or the collector is unavailable, the record goes with it. Nyocte gives each member their own record and the group a shared one, with reminders, payouts, and decisions in the same place.

Before you start
Common questions
Is Nyocte free for a susu?
Yes. The app is free for every group, with no member limit and no premium tier. Payment processing, where your group chooses to use it, is handled by a payment provider and can carry a fee. Record-keeping, meetings, votes, and chat cost nothing.
Does Nyocte hold the group's money?
No. Nyocte keeps the record. Contributions can still be collected the way your susu already collects them: cash at the meeting, bank transfer, or mobile money. Where in-app payments are available, they are processed by a licensed payment provider and Nyocte does not hold funds.
Does it work for a daily susu?
Yes. The contribution cycle is set by the group. Daily, weekly, and monthly contributions are all recorded the same way.
Can members in Ghana and abroad share one susu?
Yes. Members join from any country and follow the record in the group's currency.
