Join a Nyocte meeting without an account

You received a Nyocte meeting link. Here is how to join from your phone or computer in under a minute, with no account and no download.

By Nyocte team · Published

Tap the meeting link your host sent you. It looks like a Nyocte web address followed by a meeting code. It opens in your browser; nothing downloads. If you have the Nyocte app installed, the meeting opens in the app instead.

Enter your name

Type the name your host will recognise. This is how the host sees you in the waiting room and how you appear to other participants. You do not create an account and you are not asked for a phone number or an email.

Check your camera and microphone

Before you join, the preview screen shows your camera and lets you test your microphone. Allow the browser to use both when it asks. You can join with the camera off if you prefer; you can turn it on later.

Wait to be admitted, if there is a waiting room

Some hosts admit participants one by one. If you see a waiting screen, stay on the page. The host sees your name and lets you in.

In the meeting

Tap the microphone to mute and unmute, the camera to turn video on and off, and the leave button when you are done. On a computer you can share your screen if the host allows it. If the connection is poor, turn your camera off; audio uses far less data.

Want to host your own?

Hosting needs a Nyocte account, created in the mobile app in a minute. Then choose Meet now or Schedule, and send your own link.

Common questions

Do I need to install anything?

No. The meeting opens in your phone's or computer's browser. If you already have the Nyocte app, the link opens there instead.

It asks for a password. Where do I get it?

The host set a password when scheduling. It is in the invitation message; ask the host if it is missing.

I am stuck on a waiting screen.

The host turned on the waiting room and admits participants one by one. Stay on the page; the host sees your name and lets you in.

My camera or microphone does not work.
