What is a njangi?
Also known as: ndjangui, djangui, tontine
A njangi is a rotating savings group common across Cameroon, from Bamenda and Bafoussam to Douala, Yaoundé, and the diaspora. Members contribute a fixed amount at each meeting, and the pooled amount goes to one member in turn until everyone has received it. Many njangis also run a savings pot, a trouble fund for emergencies, and fines for lateness.
Most njangis still run on a notebook, a WhatsApp group, and the treasurer's memory. That works until a member disputes a payment, a meeting is missed, or the treasurer moves. Nyocte gives the group a shared record that every member can open, and keeps decisions, meetings, and messages next to it.

Create the group and add the members.
Choose the savings group setup, name your njangi, and invite members with a link or code. Give the treasurer and secretary their roles.

Record contributions at each meeting.
Enter each contribution as it comes in. Members see their own record, the treasurer sees the whole picture, and late payments are visible before the next sitting.

Is Nyocte free for a njangi?
Yes. The app is free for every group, with no member limit and no premium tier. Payment processing, where your group chooses to use it, is handled by a payment provider and can carry a fee. Record-keeping, meetings, votes, and chat cost nothing.
Does Nyocte hold the group's money?
No. Nyocte keeps the record. Contributions can still be collected the way your njangi already collects them: cash at the meeting, bank transfer, or mobile money. Where in-app payments are available, they are processed by a licensed payment provider and Nyocte does not hold funds.
Can we use it for a njangi with members abroad?
Yes. Members join from any country. The record is in the group's currency, and members abroad can follow contributions, meetings, and votes from the app or the browser.
Does it work in French?
Yes. Nyocte's app is available in French and English, and this page exists in French as well. Members choose their own language.
