Comparison
Looking for a Zoom alternative for your community group?
Zoom, Google Meet, and WhatsApp are all good at putting faces on a screen. The difference for a community group is everything around the call: whether your members can join without an account, whether the meeting ends before your agenda does, and whether the decisions and the money end up recorded somewhere the group can find them.
This page compares the free versions of each tool for the way associations, savings groups, families, and committees actually meet. Where another tool is the better choice, it says so.

When Zoom or Google Meet is the better choice
- Webinars for hundreds of attendees with registration pages, or breakout rooms for workshops.
- Your organisation already pays for Zoom Workplace or Google Workspace and lives in those calendars and documents.
- You need integrations with corporate tools such as Salesforce, Slack, or a learning platform.
When Nyocte is the better choice
- Your members are an association, a savings group, a family, a congregation, or a committee, and the meeting is only part of what you do together.
- Members and elders join from a phone and should not have to create an account or install anything.
- The meeting must end with decisions on record: attendance, votes, minutes, and contributions kept with the group.
- Your community reads in French, Swahili, Yoruba, Hausa, Amharic, Somali, or another language Nyocte carries and the others do not.
Perguntas frequentes
Is Nyocte a Zoom replacement?
For community groups, yes: personal and group meetings, guests in the browser, scheduling with password and waiting room, host controls, screen sharing, and recording. For corporate webinars and breakout rooms, Zoom remains the specialist tool.
Can my guests join a Nyocte meeting without the app?
Yes. Guests open the meeting link in any browser, enter their name, check their camera and microphone, and join. Only the host needs a Nyocte account.
Does Nyocte have a 40-minute limit like Zoom's free plan?
No. Nyocte does not cut a meeting off at a fixed time.
Can we move our WhatsApp group to Nyocte without losing people?
Yes, and you do not have to leave WhatsApp on day one. Keep the chat there and put the record in Nyocte first; the conversation follows the decisions. There is a guide on exactly how to do it.
