Copy the right link

Open your meeting in Nyocte and copy the invitation link from the meeting itself. The most common failure is sending the address of your Meetings list, which shows nothing to a guest. The invitation link contains the meeting code.

Write a message people can act on

Paste this and adapt it:

Family meeting about the memorial costs. Sunday 7 September, 11:00 Douala / 12:00 Paris / 6:00 Houston. Join from your phone with this link, no app needed: [link]. Password: [password if set]. It will last about an hour.

Purpose, time in the zones that matter, the link, the password if there is one, and how long it will take. That is everything; the rest is noise.

Send it twice

Once the day before with the full message, and once ten minutes before the start with "We're starting, join here" and the link again. The reminder is what gets people in the room; the first message is for their calendar.

Tell them what will happen when they tap

For a group that has never joined a browser meeting, add one line: "You will be asked for your name, then to allow the microphone. Tap Allow." That sentence prevents most of the "it didn't work" replies.

Avoid the three mistakes that lose half the room

Sending the link alone with no time or purpose. Sending the wrong link. Changing the link at the last minute and posting a second one under the first, which is what happens when someone starts a new meeting instead of opening the scheduled one. Use one scheduled meeting and one link.

After the meeting, post the record in the same thread

Reply to your own invitation with the decisions and the link to the minutes or the recording. People who missed it find everything in one place, under the message they already saw.
